Mueller This is a Mueller, "Improved" model, dated 1969.  It is located at the southwest corner of Current and Stinson Drives, near Riddick Hall.  Muellers are common on campus and throughout Raleigh.  The Mueller Co. began operation in Illinois in 1857 but did not make hydrants until 1934.  In 1975, the Mueller Co. moved its hydrant manufacturing operations from Chattanooga, Tennessee, to a new plant in Albertville, Alabama, where Mueller hydrants are made today.  Most Muellers on campus, including the one pictured here, were manufactured in Chattanooga, but newer Muellers installed on Centennial Campus were made in Albertville.
