Lafayette Square

Victorian rowhouses around the park, with courtyards rather than lawns. Often an association job.

Lafayette Square is rowhouses and restored Victorians around the oldest park in the city, and the ground behind them is courtyard rather than lawn. Brick, paved, planted in beds, enclosed by walls more often than fences.

A paved courtyard is quick work and a planted one is not, because the beds are where everything ends up. Either way it is a smaller job than a suburban yard and we price it the same, which some people find surprising in both directions.

A good share of the work here is for associations rather than individual households, covering the shared grounds between buildings.
